Tour Plan

1 A Wild Day Just Minutes Away

Your one-day safari begins bright and early, with a 6:00 AM pick-up from your hotel or Nairobi airport. You’ll be whisked straight to Nairobi National Park, entering as the sun rises—peak time for wildlife activity. Enjoy a 3- to 4-hour game drive through this iconic reserve, where you’ll track a variety of animals, including lions on the prowl, elegant giraffes grazing the acacia trees, herds of buffaloes and zebras, and even the elusive black rhino. Your experienced guide will navigate the park’s different ecosystems, ensuring excellent chances for sightings and providing expert commentary along the way.

Around 10:30 AM, you’ll stop at the Ivory Burning Site Monument, where Kenya made a bold conservation statement by destroying confiscated ivory—an ideal place for photos, reflection, and a short coffee/snack break. After exiting the park by 11:30 AM, you’ll head to the nearby David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, arriving by 11:45 AM. From 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, the center opens its gates to the public for a one-hour presentation where you'll learn about their rescue and rehabilitation efforts, and watch the baby elephants play, feed, and roll in the mud—a touching and joyful experience.

The game drive continues with more wildlife sightings and breathtaking views of the city skyline until 12:30 PM, when you exit the park and head for a relaxing lunch at a local restaurant like The Carnivore, Talisman, or Karen Blixen Coffee Garden (lunch at your own cost). After lunch, you’ll be transferred back to your hotel or airport by 3:00 PM, bringing your wild Nairobi adventure to a close—brief, but deeply memorable.
